PortfolioUC Berkeley · Haas · Class of 2030

Hi, I’m Rayan.

A student at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, interested in medtech. I’ve worked in startup acceleration at Octane and co-founded a nonprofit that taught technology to 2,000+ individuals. I also do projects for small businesses. Outside of work I love anything athletic, volleyball most of all.

Current projects

Anywhere from ideas to things a little more finished.

Gem Finder Live

Blockchain at Berkeley hackathon · October 2026

A hype checker for financial Instagram Reels. It pulls the checkable claims out of a Reel, keeps the speaker’s exact words, and puts them next to what Gemini Exchange’s live prediction markets and plain volatility math say. When no market matches, it says so instead of making up odds. Built in a day for the Gemini Exchange prediction markets track.

EchoSense Early stage

With World Access for the Blind · Since 2025

One joint project with echolocation instructor Daniel Kish: a binaural audio course that lets blind students hear real spatial echoes through headphones, and an early-stage app meant to turn the iPhone’s LiDAR scan of a room into realistic echoes, so practice can carry over to real echolocation.

MECC Outreach

For Berkeley Mechanical Engineering Consulting Club · 2026

Software that handles the club’s outreach: it finds companies worth contacting, checks that every address is real, writes each email from research on that company, and tracks replies, with guardrails so nothing ever reads as spam.

R2 Quant Early stage

Trading research · 2026

My own quant research lab, built so it can’t fool me. It turns published trading research into rules, tests about 137,000 strategy variants across futures, forex, stocks and crypto, and only keeps the ones that pass eight checks in a row, including data they have never seen. In the latest run, 111 made it through. Everything runs in simulation.

Iron Condor Bot Early stage

Since 2026

Built around the iron condor, an options strategy where the most you can lose is fixed before the trade is ever placed, so no single trade can cost more than planned. The bot tests this defined-risk way to trade against years of market data and records every trade in simulation, with no real money.

Past projects

Senior Sync

Nonprofit · Co-founder · 2023 to 2025

Free technology classes for seniors on phones, scams, and staying in touch with family, backed by a Dragon Kim Foundation fellowship and a $5,000 grant. The full course library is still free for anyone to use.

SunMoon Snacks

CEO · Virtual Enterprise · 2025 to 2026

My Virtual Enterprise class business: a snack brand run as a 30-person simulated company with six departments, which we took to the state competition.

SAT App

2025

A free SAT practice app built around real practice questions for students in the Tustin Unified School District. We finished the build but never rolled it out to classrooms.

Snack Mix Guy

My first client · 2025

A student at my school who built a real business selling homemade Chex Mix, with every order coming through his Instagram DMs. I built him a website with online ordering, and new customers stopped depending on his DMs.

Octane OC

A summer as a Capital & Growth intern at Orange County’s innovation accelerator, split between two programs.

Octane Capital & Growth

Capital & Growth Intern · Summer 2025

The research side: sourcing and qualifying sponsors and presenting companies for each of Octane’s events, across six verticals.

LaunchPad

The accelerator connecting startups to investors

The startup side: qualifying companies into the pipeline, writing competitor reports so founders could survive due diligence, and supporting the pitch sessions where they met investors.
